Goals of the Foundation
The Holcim Foundation for Sustainable Construction promotes innovative approaches to sustainable construction. The objective is to encourage sustainable responses to the technological, environmental, socioeconomic and cultural issues affecting building and construction through a range of initiatives.

|
"Target Issues" for sustainable construction
The Holcim Foundation and its partner universities have identified a set of five "target issues", which serve as the basis for any activity the Foundation supports. These issues are: innovation at the forefront of sustainable construction, highest ethical standards that support social equity, a sensible use and management of natural resources, economic feasibility and a high standard of architectural quality.

Holcim Awards and Holcim Forum
The Holcim Awards are an international competition for future-oriented and tangible sustainable construction projects. The competition awards prize money of USD 2 million per three-year cycle. The Holcim Forum is also held every three years and is a series of symposiums for academia and practitioners to encourage discourse on the future of the built environment.
